Now, here's what Peg from Pa. wrote: If you have a puppy and want an easy way to house train. Hang a sleigh bell on the door nob to outside and ring the bell every time you take your pup out to go potty. Have him ring it too. with-in a month he`ll let you know its time to go out by ringing the bell. Just try it, you`ll be amazed. from Cooper,Peg, Frank and Sara.

Retractable leashes are great for letting your dog outside for bathroom breaks. Hook the handle of the leash inside or outside your door. Clip the other end to your dogs collar and let him go out to do his business from your doorway. As the dog moves from place to place the tension on the leash moves with him. Depending on the length of the leash your dog can have 12 to 20 feet of space to roam, because it's retractable it steers him right back to the door when he's finished.
Couch Potato: If you're having trouble keeping you dog from jumping on your furniture, try blowing up some balloons and spread them over your couch. You don't want to break them since this may scare your dog, but just being there might be all the difference they need.
Some puppies have a bad habit of eating their own stools. To break them of this habit moisten their food and then sprinkle food tenderizer like Accent over it. It's tasteless going down, but has a horrible taste coming out. Dogs don't like it and will eventually stop eating it.
I read a great tip for water in crates. Use a bottle, like those used for rabbits, hooked onto the outside of the crate, nozzle, facing into the crate, of course. No spill. Works great for when dogs are crated for any reason. I’m even using it in the car now too. We taught him to use it by placing a small amount of peanut butter near the tip. When he started licking it, the water was released. It took a matter of seconds for him to get adjusted to it. Thanks Joanne.....
If your beautiful yard isn't so beautiful anymore, or if you've twisted an ankle or two thanks to the holes your sweet little dog has dug, try this great idea sent in to us from Joanne, Baxter's mom. Fill a hard plastic kids swimming pool with sand and dirt, hide a few bones or other enticing goodies in it, and watch your dog have a ball digging without doing any harm to your yard or your body. Thanks Joanne, great idea!
The Beagle Game Sent in by Scott Brown PEANUTS!!! I have a 5 year old beagle named Lily. She's all about
the nose, as you probably all know. SO I like to grab a handful of
either peanuts, popcorn or some kibble and hide it around the living
room. She's locked up in the kitchen or the bathroom and going nuts.
Then, let her out and let her sniff the whole house for her treats.
Don't be shy, hide stuff under throw rugs, up on a book shelf, maybe
under the radiator. She goes bananas and, even after she's scoped out
the territory, she goes back to check if she missed any and that
keeps her entertained for a good hour maybe more. Try it, you'll have
a blast, both of you. Now all I have to say is, "Wanna find
PEANUTS!?!" And she does the Snoopy dance!
