New Jersey Beagles

Congratulations to Belle and daddy Sammy as they wait for the arrival of their new family.  The pups are due around July 22nd.

BUT

WAIT

That's

Not

All!

It seems daddy-to-be Sam wants to give equal time to his other impending family.

That's right, Sammy and Bonnie are also expecting puppies.  Their pups are due July 19th.  That's only three days before Belle and Sammy's pups are due.

Belle may be behind Bonnie by 3 days, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she beats her to the delivery room.

You'll have to keep watching to know for sure.

And, the race is on!

It's a race to the finish line to see which girl has her puppies first.

BELLE WINS!!!

Although Belle was due a couple of days after Bonnie, she had her puppies earlier.  On July 17th Belle had a record breaking (for her) litter of 13 puppies.  The pups were brought into the world by emergency c-section early Thursday afternoon.  Unfortunately three of the puppies did not survive, but the remaining 10 (8 females and 2 males) seem to be doing pretty well.  Thanks to daddy Sammy, Belle had four adorable lemon and white pups.  The remaining eight are sweet little tri's with some possible ticking.

Bonnie had her puppies the following day on July 18th.  Bonnie delivered her first seven pups home normally but after struggling to whelp her 8th puppy, it was decided a trip to the emergency vet was in order.  From there it was determined that she too would need a c- section to deliver her remaining three puppies.  Bonnie had a record breaking litter (for her) by having a total of 10 pups.  Eight (four females and four males) have survived and are doing pretty good.  A few tiny pups have us a little concerned but they are being watched closely and given supplemental feedings every two hours.  Again, thanks to daddy Sam, three of Bonnie's pups are lemon and white.

Belle is a wonderful mommy.  She's very gentle and caring and keeps her family especially clean.  They're all doing fantastic.  Even her smallest pups are getting bigger every day.  I'm still squeezing a bottle feeding in between their nursing every once in awhile just for safe keeping, but I think the pups would do fine without it just the same.

Bonnie is also a wonderful mommy.  She's so calm and relaxed around her puppies.  Her pups are also gaining some good weight.  Some of her puppies are already over a pound.  She too has a little one that I sneak a bottle feeding in for once in awhile, but otherwise the pups are doing excellent.

Is it too Good to be true?
....You be the judge....

An all white beagle is almost impossible to find.  Google it for yourself and see.   Could it be possible that New Jersey Beagle's very own Bonnie and Sammy have become the proud parents of a beautiful ALL WHITE beagle puppy?  I can tell you this much, if they have, she (Ivory) is NOT for sale!  It may be too soon to know for sure, but upon my daily inspections, I have not found any color.

Belle's pups will be two weeks old tomorrow.  Her puppies are smaller than Bonnie's but I'm sure that's only because there were so many more to begin with.  All ten pups are doing well and are content little darlings.... Their eyes and ears are starting to open now.  If you look real close you can see some eyeballs in the photo.

Bonnie's 7 puppies are doing well.  We did lose one precious little puppy yesterday, but the rest of the pups are all healthy and doing well.  The pups are weighing in at about 1lb 14oz.  Really nice size pups with plump little round tummies.  A very sweet litter of happy little puppies.

Bonnie's puppy Ivory is still very, VERY white, but she is starting to show an ever so slight touch of light brown markings in a couple of places.  They're actually so faint that I didn't even want to mention them.  All and all she's still 99% white and I'm happy with that.  She will become a NJ Beagle.  I know she's as close as we're ever going to get to having a pure white beagle, besides, if all else fails, there's always white out!!!

Belle's Babies

Bonnie's Babies

Belle and Bonnie's pups are a little over two weeks old now.  All the pups are doing well.  Their eyes and ears are now open and they're actually starting to get up on all four feet.  Some of them are even walking.  Not real steady yet, but they're movin....  They are responding to being held and even enjoy little cuddles and belly rubs.  They're all just simply adorable!

They may be tiny, but boy are they mighty.  Click on their photo to see the newest video taken of the mighty ten.  There is no holding them back anymore.  They figured out how to climb their way out of their whelping area so now Belle has nowhere to hide from them.  They are adorable though. The ticking on some of them is starting to come in, which I'm sure you'll notice in their video.

Bonnie's pups are about twice the size of Belle's and they're doing just as well.  Absolutely stunning little puppies, these little monkey's also discovered how to climb out of their whelping area.  Fortunately for Bonnie I was able to put up a wood barrier to hold them back from escaping a little while longer.  Click on their photo to see their newest video as well.

Our first meal

Belle's pups

Bonnie's pups

Both Belle and Bonnie's pups experienced their first taste of puppy food today, and boy did they love it. In the top photo Belle's babies couldn't get it down fast enough.  Bonnie's pups were a little calmer while chowing down, but then again they didn't have as much competition around the food bowl as Belle's pups did.  When they were all done, each litter ate a whole cup of food.  Not bad for their first time using their teeth.

Yes, it was too good to be true,

but she's beautiful just the same.  Ivory is not going to be a pure white beagle, but as you can see in the photo above, her coloring is very unique.  The color that has come in is very, very light.  If you compare her to her little brother sitting right next to her in the photo, you can see how much lighter she is.  It's almost like a champagne color.  She's really very pretty and of course we've allowed ourselves to fall in love with her, sooooo we're going to make her the newest member of the NJ Beagle family.

Meet our new puppy

Joel and mom Kathy fell head over heels for Bonnie's little lemon and white male, Dallas.  Yes, after the football team.

Tito, Ashely, and Jodi can't wait to bring home Belle's little beauty.

It was a hard decision, but Maryann, Anthony, and mom Pauline picked their pretty little girl Lucy from Belle's litter.

Totally surprised by husband Pete, Amy fell in love with Belle's little girl who will now be known as Fred, short for Fredricka.

Belle's little blue tick boy, now known as Bagel, went to Yolanda, Ralph, and the kids.

Dave, Cindy, and the boys have settle on the name Mickey for Bonnie's handsome little boy.

James, Rachel, and the kids chose Bonnie's one and only tri colored female.  Her name will be Ruby.

Belle's pretty little girl, Gidget, now has a new mommy.  Beth Ann's mom and sister are pleased with her choice.

Belle's little girl, Hunter, is Ray's 70th birthday present.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Brandon and dad, Philip chose Bonnie's handsome tri male and will be naming him Benji.

Lucky Michael got an early 10th birthday present.  Bonnie's tri colored male.  No name yet.

Kim and Eric picked Bonnie's pretty little girl from her photo and knew they made a great choice the minute they saw her pretty little face.  Her name is Lilly.

The Collins girls knew right away which puppy they wanted, but they had to wait until mom and dad gave their approval.  Yes it was to Belle's pretty little lemon and white ticked female.  No name just yet.

She may not be our pure white beagle anymore, but we love her just the same.  Ivory will be the newest member of the New Jersey Beagles clan.

Anthony, Uncle Roy, and little Chris scooped up Belle's little lemon and white boy, Duce to join their family.  Everyone seemed happy with the choice, including Duce.

Karlene fell in love with Belle's little girl from the moment she saw her photo on the internet and loved her even more the moment she met her in person.  Victor, Victor Jr., and Samantha agree.  Their new puppy will be named Caramel.

Joan and Tyler not only went home with big smiles on their faces, but they got to take Belle's last little puppy too, AND, she's going to have a big beagle sis at home to play.  The couple are thinking about naming her Casey.

Can you find your puppy?

Bell's pups have been moved outside to the big kennel to give Bonnie's family a little more room.  These guys are loving it outside.  They have more room to run and play and they're totally enjoying their soft straw bedding.  The pups have been doing well with their weaning, but tonight is the best test.....  No momma Belle for middle of the night snacks.  To see the final video of Belle's pups, Click here.

It's not easy getting these little rascals to stay still for a group photo, so two pups, Ivory and Dallas are missing from this photo.  Since I couldn't get all the pups together I decided to do a little video so you can see them all in action.  Click here to see the final video of Bonnie's pups.
